The Mashrebiya screen is an iconic element of Arab/Islamic architecture. Mashrebiyas are
still popular as separation screens or walls,
however there are no fonts around, that are specially designed for producing this
kind of translucent screens.
oneseven.km is a response to the need for such fonts. The applied grid is influenced by traditional Islamic geometry, constructed as an infinitely repeated pattern similar to that which adorns Islamic architecture as ornamentation formed from geometric and interlaced patterns.
